About Antony Tung

I built my practice around one simple belief: people deserve a defense attorney they can trust, especially when the stakes are high and the system feels overwhelming. I immigrated to the United States from Taiwan, and I understand how intimidating American courts can be, particularly for immigrants and families who are trying to navigate unfamiliar rules, language barriers, and a process that moves fast.

Before founding my firm, I began my legal career as a general prosecutor, handling a wide range of cases that included prostitution, drug crimes, theft, burglary, robbery, assault and battery, vandalism, and domestic violence. That experience matters because it taught me how cases are built from the beginning, how police reports become charging decisions, and what prosecutors look for when they decide whether to negotiate or push a case toward trial.

I later transitioned into a specialized role as a gang prosecutor, assigned to cases from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Division, historically one of the city’s highest-crime areas. During that time, I served as a key member of the Community Law Enforcement and Recovery task force, working alongside representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Probation Department, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. That experience gave me a close, practical understanding of how agencies work together, how investigations are put together, and where mistakes can happen.

In 2011, I founded Tung & Associates, APLC, because I believed I could best serve the public by working directly for clients, not the government. Today, my team and I handle criminal defense matters throughout California, and we also represent clients in other states and in federal court. We take pride in being responsive, prepared, and straightforward with clients about what’s realistic and what it will take to get there.
